Had an amazing Christmas dinner last night with the rest of team 71 (my housemates at number 71) and am looking forward to being back with my family tomorrow.
Although today's exam went well, I just got an email from my lecturer about the South Africa coursework, and it doesn't sound good...
I knew I had done badly when I handed it in. I really should not have been such an idiot by avoiding to go ask for help until so late. I also should have chosen one of the reports which would have been easier rather than the report that I found most interesting, but hey ho, let's hope the feedback is constructive and I improve my report writing skills enough to do well in future work.
But let's not end on a depressing note. I'm really looking forward to seeing my family again, and hopefully I'll get to see some of my friends from back home too this Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone!

A pinch and a punch...
Wow! Look at today's date: 01.02.2010 - Palindromic like me!
(Well... it was when I wrote this anyway...)
I've had an amazing weekend, and a good start to the week:
Yesterday I did the
marine mammal survey course at the MBA (Marine Biology Association). It was great fun and has made me want to do some volunteering for ORCA at some point int the future; hopefully I'll be able to fit it in the summer holidays.
On Wednesday I'll be finishing my sea survival
(that I started on Saturday) with the practical in the pool. Today me and Sean walked up to the pool to see where it is, and luckily it's not as far as I thought. The walk was lovely because it goes through Central Park (despite getting mud on my boots and getting the erge to climb the lovely trees there!)
My lectures were fun too (although I almost slipped on the ice this morning getting to them!) The ecosystems lecture was right up my street with food webs and trophic cascades; I found it so interesting I went immediately to the library afterwards to get some books on the subject.

The other amazing lectures I had today were on dinosaurs & birds and the evolution of humans. I'm so happy that I enjoy my course; I would have hated to come to university to discover that I'd made the wrong choice...
Oh no! Look at the date! I've blabbered on so long it's nolonger 01.02.2010! Never mind, there's always the next palindromic date to get excited about, but it'll be next year (11.02.2011)
